We were on the safari trail when our guide (looking through his binoculars) told us we had two males heading our way. After 20-30 minutes (they don’t walk fast), two males---led by this glorious creature—passed in front of our safari vehicle. In the Serengeti, dark/black maned males are considered to be healthier and more attractive to females for mating as they have may have longer reproductive lives and higher offspring survival. Thick dark hair and loved by the ladies? “Elvis” seemed the perfect name.
