DAYDREAMING This image of a leopard was taken in the Northern Serengeti in Tanzania, not far from the border of Kenya. I had not seen a leopard in my previous three trips to Tanzania, so I was very excited to come across this one resting in the tree. Leopards are famously solitary animals, generally only spending time with others during the first one or two years of their lives. They spend a large amount of time resting in caves or in trees, where they can be camouflaged from animals that could attempt to steal the leopard’s hard earned food (such as lions or hyenas).
